2018 World Design Rankings + 10 Award-Winning Projects

The Cutting Edge Pharmacy Dispensing Pharmacy by Tetsuya Matsumoto

The results are in for the “World Design Rankings,” a platform organized by the A’ Design Awards showing the medals won by each nation from 2010 to 2017.

United States collected the most medals, followed by China, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Turkey, Australia, Portugal, and Taiwan. Platinum, gold, silver, bronze and iron awards were handed out to numerous talented designers, see the “Top 10” here.

Every year the A’ Design Awards and Competition highlights the best of the best in architecture, product design, art, illustration, film, and 95 other creative fields. We have selected a small number of award-winning projects to share with you—from painterly dishware to The Flash comic-book inspired shoes. Enjoy!

The “Only Digital Clock” is all about minimalism by Vadim Kibardin.
Animism 1 Sacred trees Photograph by Yoshimi Sugiyama
Sugiyama created (light-painting) photos with flash lights and color filters using a 5 to 20 minute exposure.
 The FLASH Collection by Cesar Augusto Idrobo Giraldo
Cesar Idrobo designed these bright-colored shoes inspired by the comic-book superhero, “The Flash.”
Life From Stone by Chris Slabber
Known for his double-exposure imagery, Chris Slabber produced a new digital art series titled “Life From Stone.”
