Painting by Craig Alan (2)

On the Internet, there seems to be a lot of misinformation about Craig Alan’s work. These images are not aerial photographs, but actually mixed-media artwork. The artist paints a large number of tiny people to form portraits of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn, and more.

Notes about the artist (from bio):

The originality of Alan’s work at both conceptual and technical level confirms his talent. His works are made initially from images worked numerically and mounted on a wooden support. The shades within Alan’s works are created using a multitude of figures in motion leaving behind an interesting chiaroscuro effect. Variations in the colours of characters, shapes and sizes offer very unique pieces. Each work is finished by applying two coats of lacquer.
