Making Art with Tea and Alcohol

Woman Face painting by Carne Griffiths

Aside from using watercolor, calligraphy ink and graphite, Carne Griffiths also uses beverages like tea, brandy and vodka to make some of his splashy portraits. The artist focuses on “the creation and manipulation of the drawn line. Images explore human, geometric and floral forms, in a combination of both literal and abstract translation and in response to situations encountered in daily life.” [1]
