Recently, I posted “Super Epic Rainbow Cake,” and now there are “Rainbow Pancakes” by Amanda from I am Mommy. It looks great as a picture, however, it has too much food coloring for me to eat it.

    These look so GROSS!
Think of all the food dye you are putting into your body.
    Sickening.

Wow, I bet my kids would LOVE those. No way I’d serve them that much food colouring, but they look fun at least.

Who cares about the food coloring. People are too concerned with ridiculousness. I think they look wonderful. And I’d serve them to my kids. On a regular basis? No. Because I’m reasonable. Go figure. Get over your organic ego’s, people.

I don’t think this has anything to do with ridiculousness. Some people will be more than happy to eat a colorful pancake, and others are repulsed by the quantity of food coloring.

For example, I mentioned I would not eat it. Why? Because I am alergic to coloring/dyes.

All that food coloring is no different than giving them Fruity Pebbles for breakfast.

You know, this could totally be done with beets, orange zest, some saffron, maybe some spinach or even green apple skin puree, blackberries, and some other berry concoction. The options are endless without the food coloring being an issue. If the colors didn’t turn out maybe a little food coloring wouldn’t hurt.
Besides, how many people here will still eat the icing off DQ cakes? Hmmmm???? lol
    yay food!

I’d have no probably with eating a nice stack of rainbow pancakes every other month or so.

I’d wash it all down with a big gulp sized glass of orange soda.

The only way to my heart is through my stomach…and you better bring plenty of colorful food to the entrance.

Daughter makes pancakes with beets, squash, and various vegetable purees added for good health! Safe for the types of dyes used, this might make them even more appealing.

Indeed, it would be better with natural dyes.

We made these today for our valentines day brunch… Ours didn’t look quite as good as these, but they were amazing! Here’s a picture if anyone’s curious what they look like when they’re not perfect.. Hehe.

They are beautiful! And an occasional indulgence is our right (as a human beings) with any amount of curiosity! I eat a pancakes almost daily, because I love them, so no I wouldn’t make these every time. But a couple times a month for an orange pancake… I’d really get behind that!

(I like the natural dyes idea though… Gonna have to get on that).
