DEADLINE: September 1st, 2009

We’re honored to be hosted at (mt) Media Temple for the past five years, and it is clear to us that their service is: FIVE STARS. They have excellent hosting packages with up-to-date features, a stunning and simple-to-use control panel, and also great customer service that very few companies can compare to. And because we tend to brag a bit about (mt) to our friends, family, and readers, we thought it would be amazing to celebrate our 10th Anniversary on the web with our hosting partner. So we’re organizing a give-away to offer (2) (gs) Grid Service (no-cost hosting for LIFE!). What this means is, if you win, you can host your website on their server free of charge for la vida loca!

What an amazing give away! I would love to win this after being stuck with cheap, unreliable hosting that – sporadically goes down for some reason – for a couple of years now. It really would be amazingly helpful for me, I would be so appreciative!

  13. on Jun 16, 2009 at 2:01 pm Jase

Holy crap, this is the most exciting shit I’ve seen on the intertubes for a freakin long time. I mean seriously, how premium would it be to have web-hosting taken care of. Like, Samuel L Jackson taken care of. Fo’ life! With that stress off my back and that resource at my disposal, I could finally unleash on the world a site that was better than most people’s whole truckin’ lives, man. Jimminy Jillickers, batman, this is a stinkingg opportunity for someone. I hope some deserving and creative muddy chucker wins, cos it’d be hot tomatoes to see them throw down a mind blowing piece of design that wouldn’t see the light of day if it had to pay it’s way. I really hope I get the chance to do that. I mean, my brain is aslpode just thinking of the possibilities! Wix idea whoever had the epiphany. Oh, and pick me. I’m stewing with inspiration.

Wow, first of all, a huge thank to Scene360 and MT for allowing such an awesome contest to take place. I would absolutely love to win the hosting as I am finishing up my degree in programming and money is always tight. Unreliable or cheap hosts are extremely frustrating for me when working on projects, but sometimes my budget doesn’t allow for anything better. Needless to say, this would be a gigantic help.

Good luck everyone, and thanks again!

  17. on Jun 16, 2009 at 5:07 pm Zerimar3

This is a huge giveaway and one would be insane to pass up a chance to win. I’ve always wanted to host with (mt) but lack of funds have hindered me. It would be great to win this one and take my site to another level. Thanks a million!

  18. on Jun 16, 2009 at 5:13 pm Simão Freitas

    Oh. My. God!!

My host really s***ks! Just a few thousand visitors per day, and it is slow as 1910 car! Further more, is down a lot, i’ve been hacked twice (last year…) and my visitors begin not to trust us…

I’m always visiting MT website just to hurt myself with there products! They host all the sites I usually visit everyday so they must be reallyyyy goooood! I hope I win this because I don’t have the money to pay for such a great host, but my visitors really deserve it!

    Btw… great contest!

  19. on Jun 16, 2009 at 5:15 pm Mike

I started the project of creating a portal of design, typography, webdesign, branding. Here in Brazil (Land of abduzeedo.com, one of the sites which use the hosting service from Media Temple’s) One of the goals in the planning that was drawn, is to achieve a quality hosting service to start the project.

OMG I have to win this. For the last 8 years I’ve been hosting with Netfirms and I am SO done. I’m building an application to help users send e-newsletters to people and Netfirms is blocking all ports I’ll need to do this securely. I just spent 5 minutes on the phone with MT tech’s and they told me I’d have all the capabilities I need with their platform. Help me make my dream a reality! PLEEEEEASE!!!

  55. on Jul 31, 2009 at 7:17 am Scott Farris

    Hey, I’ll throw dice here!

  56. on Aug 02, 2009 at 10:34 am Henry

    Hello,
I have been thinking about a project for almost a year, it would be an innovative dating website with some feature never seen yet! Right now I’m thinking about my little project and what I should do with my life, and I can’t decide if I should keep my current job or quit it to launch my project.. If I win this great hosting price, I’ll surely make my mind and quit my job and I launch my project :)
    Fingers crossed

So you wanna know how badly I want this hosting?

I will feed single handedly every single unicorn in this world which will make the world a better place to live. This should easily get me a Magsaysay but I don’t want that. I want free hosting from MediaTemple courtesy of Scene360.

    Wheeeeeeeee.

  61. on Aug 05, 2009 at 6:04 pm Cengiz C.

I always hear how cool (mt) is.

Unfortunately I don’t have amount to afford a quality web hosting. All I have is ad sponsored free hosting accounts.

I was never able to get paid webhosting. As a senior student who’s going to need a real system soon, I wish to win this competition and get (mt) hosting prize.

    Thank you for this.

    Regards from Turkey.

    Ciao

  63. on Aug 08, 2009 at 5:54 am tfs

Thanks for this great contest scene360! Timing could not be any better because I am currently on the search for a host so I can finally fill in the Website field on the scene360 comment box in my future posts!!!!!!
On every site where I leave a comment I have to leave this field open and it makes me sad. Oh and on a side note….It will also enable me to host my very first personal website on the internet since I started freelancing recently!

    Thanks!

  64. on Aug 09, 2009 at 11:47 pm Azzrizal

Recently my website was taken down due to my lack of cash laying around.
It’s a cheap hosting, and ive to stand those unpredictable website downtime and it run incredibly slow at times. The server problems really pull me back.

I’m going to launch a new website as soon ive the money, but now seems not the right time.

Ive heard of Media Temple all the time from friend’s suggestions, and i’m sure it will be a great hosting, better if i could get it for free.

Not expecting much, but thanks to scene360 and Media Temple for the opportunity, or atleast for the thoughts.

    Thanks again!

  65. on Aug 12, 2009 at 12:18 am gavs

I only hear good things about (mt). I currently don’t have web hosting due to the fact I haven’t been able to find one that I feel comfortabe with so I really want to win this. It would mean I could launch my web project and be out there.

  66. on Aug 13, 2009 at 3:35 pm Leo

Why do I want to win free hosting for life? Because (mt) is awesome, and I want to get awesome stuff for free for the rest of my life. But on a serious note, I have many sites like http://www.meupodcast.com, naamerica.com, and many other sites which I development and that are looking for a home.

    Thanks,

    Leo

Its Simple! My 2 passions in life, discovering new music and writing about it are combined into one single placed called, The Music Ninja, my music blog where I showcase and feature songs and upcoming independent bands that are trying to make a name for themselves. Lately, I have been getting some exposure and a decent amount of visits but I am still unable to celebrate it because of the constant problems and nagging bills I get from my hosting provider every month. This prize would go a long way as I will be able to continue focusing on discovering new music and sharing it with the world! Pick me :)

    Thanks!

  88. on Aug 26, 2009 at 1:48 am Jake Simonds-Malamud

I would like to win this contest so that I’ll have motivation to get myself out into the graphic design community, and MediaTemple seems to me like the best hosting on the interblags.

  89. on Aug 26, 2009 at 1:50 am Branden Silva

I’ve always known mt to host some killing plans and deals from time to time. I’ve been envious of the winners and this deal seams absolutely sweet! I’m in the process of starting my own design network to further build on the design community and I know mt could handle this without a sweat.

I think the coolest thing about this deal is it’s a lifetime plan and boy I can see mt and I walking hand in hand into the sunset until I’m 85. My guess is mt will outlive me if they keep offering exceptional services and plans like you explained.

    big fan,

    Branden Silva

    IN IT TO WIN IT!!!

Wow, this is a really amazing gift that is going to go to one lucky person! I hope that current customers of MediaTemple like myself will still be considered in the random drawing.

My company is starting to grow and as we add more employees (yes we are hiring, even in this job market), it would be great to have more money available as a small business to put towards hiring more people.

I wholly recommend (mt) for small businesses looking for a reliable host with a dead-simple control panel. On top of that, (mt) is always on top of the ball with server issues and maintenance AND they keep their users informed.

    Sincerely,

    Raving fan

  107. on Aug 26, 2009 at 2:51 am Alex Hill

I always wanted to have my own weblog that would run on a platform of my choice–Wordpress. After trying different hosted blogging services such as Tumblr, WordPress.com, and BlogSpot, I gave up and stopped blogging due to their lack of customization. As a 16 year old high school student, I cannot afford expensive web hosts. But it didn’t stop me from blogging. I blog on my local WAMP server with WordPress 2.8, which now acts like a diary than a weblog which everyone can read. I would be happy if you guys could help me take it online at http://www.ta-Labs.com. I have lots of stuff to share with the rest of the world. Thanks!

  116. on Aug 26, 2009 at 4:27 am imtiaz

  134. on Aug 26, 2009 at 9:38 am Armin Talic

If I assume my longevity to last until the age of 78 (average lifespan in the UK), that would mean I’ll be sticking around for another 66 years or so.

Imagine that, 66 years of grid hosted goodness, not to mention Media Temple’s plans for upgrading to (cs) cluster server. (even more juicy performance and stability.)

Thats 792 tera bytes of traffic over the course of my lifetime! I’m sure there’s a mobile website of two that I could develop to take advantage of all that bandwidth :)

Oh, and did I mention their customer service record? No, I don’t suppose I need to. Fingers crossed!

  135. on Aug 26, 2009 at 9:45 am Lindsay

Well, I’ve heard about MT since I was in high-school. I remember several popular websites that are hosted with MT. I know that huge names like Sony, Starbucks, Toyota, TechCrunch, Diesel, Adobe, Mashable are MT’s clients. I would be honoured to have my blog hosted among these giants.
