The Dukes of Hazzard’s car made with 4,000 toys

The artist James R. Ford glued 4,000 toy cars to a standard Ford Capri and turned it into “The General Lee” vehicle from The Dukes of Hazzard. The end result looks like the Ford has been hand-weaved.
Notes about the making of this project by James R. Ford:
Transforming a second-hand Ford Capri into the General Lee, from the Dukes of Hazzard, by covering it in little toy cars. Over four thousand toy cars were needed and so, in addition to searching out and purchasing appropriate toy cars himself, an appeal was started for people all over the world to send the artist their disused toy cars. The donator could write a little message on the toy car, or mark it in some other way, so they actually became part of the art whilst contributing to the sculpture.

Notes about “The General Lee” (from Wikipedia):
The General Lee was Bo and Luke Duke’s 1969 Dodge Charger. It was orange with a Confederate battle flag painted on the roof, and the words “GENERAL LEE” over each door and the number “01″ on each door. In the first episode (“One-Armed Bandits”), a Confederate flag along with a checkered racing flag in a criss-cross pattern could be seen behind the rear window. The name refers to the American Civil WarConfederate General Robert E. Lee. The television show was based on the movie Moonrunners, itself based on actual moonshine runners who used a 1958 Chrysler named Traveler, after General Lee’s horse. The producers changed the name, believing that most viewers would not make the connection.
