Diego Stocco sent me an email stating that he can make music from a tree. Watch the video and be amazed by his unique work!

Notes about this project from Diego:
In the garden of my house there’s a tree with lots of randomly grown twigs. It looks odd and nice at the same time. One day I asked myself if I could create a piece of music with it.
To tune the tree I picked a fundamental note and tuned the twigs by trimming them with a pencil sharpener. I used two NT6 and a NTG-2 as microphones, combined with a customized stethoscope.
I recorded the tracks live on a Pro Tools LE system. I didn’t use any synthesizer or sampler to create or modify the sounds. All the sounds come from playing the tree, by bowing the twigs, shaking the leaves, playing rhythms on the cortex and so on.

NooseHaha you’re a tripper dude, I love it!! That’s easily as good as anything I’ve heard on the radio lately… You should do a backyard remix for 50 Cent

aNot bad but not really that impressive. Just pulling a bunch of sounds you can make from the tree then mixing them together is a novel idea but I’m not all that impressed cause you can do that with mainly anything.
I could make a “music from my dryer” and just bang on it making different noises then pull them together to create a cool sounding beat.

HHey a, you ever heard of art? You may be ABLE to do it, but if you DON’T do it, then it doesn’t matter.
By the way, I liked this a lot. It’s creative and has a nice beat and reminds me of the jungle.
